Today I'm going to explain an olden and golden topic of SEO, “Meta Tags”! Which are basic and
important elements of SEO. Usually Meta tags are used for processing exact website
information to search engines. Presently search engine formats SERP’s with website
information followed by different algorithmic strategies, which are updating
endlessly. It sounds insane, but stick with me until the end to get you
complete picture of Meta handling.
In the early stages of SEO
this Meta data or Meta tags are specified in websites to get their service information
in SERP’s. Apart from that Search engines had updated several conditions and evolved
many gudelines for websites in having their Meta data.

are Meta tags, importance of Meta tags and how are they implemented in
Websites.

Meta Title –
The Meta title tag is used to specifi title of page tobe shown for search
engines. Meta title tag is mentioned in header part of html code as mentioned
below:
Ex: <meta name=”title” content=” Title text here”/>
In behalf of Meta title we use general html title tag
which will have same ranking value as Meta title.
Ex: <title>Title text here</title>
Meta Description –
Meta description tag is an important among all Meta tags which specifies complete
site’s information in a summary, which is a maximum of 150-160 characters. It
should be specified under all search engine guidelines. Meta description tag is
mentioned in header part of html code as mentioned below:
Ex:<meta name=”description”
content=”Site’s summary Starts here”/>
Keywords – Meta Keyword tag helps in tracking products
and services of website based on keywords by search engines. These are
basically used to specify keywords which will understand your services and get
in top of SERPs. Meta Keyword tag is mentioned in header part of html code as
mentioned below:
Ex: <meta
name=”keywords” content=”keyword1, keyword2, etc”/>
Are
Meta tags a ranking factor of Search engines?
Ofcourse, Meta tags are valued ranking factor of SEO in
early stages of search engine algorithms. They had much more importance by
search engines until SEO practitioner
started abusing Meta data. Till then search engines encouraged and keep on updating
several Meta implementation to help users to meet their exact requirements.
Apart from the recognisation of Meta absuing, search
engines slowly stopped ranking implementation of some Meta tag strategies by
updating its search algorithm. In this modern SEO Meta tags are not holding much importance in search engine webite ranking factors, but still relatively having content
and site niche validation by Search engine with Meta title, Meta descriptions
and Meta robots tag etc…
